Better together: Latest accreditation wins for ADComms strengthen safety and teamwork capability

Date: October 2015

Leading rail telecoms specialist ADComms has further bolstered its reputation for maintaining world-class levels of workplace safety and strong project management by achieving prestigious BS OSHAS 18001 and BS11000 accreditation.

The journey to gaining full BS18001 certification - a blueprint for an occupational health and safety management system - involved a series of three assessment stages taking place over a six month period. ADComms path to accreditation was overseen by Lloyd's Register (LRQA), the world's leading provider of business assurance service and management system certification.

BS11000 is a British standard which encourages companies to work together as a single team on projects. ADComms' commitment has already been demonstrated by the company's strong track record of working alongside Network Rail to introduce collaborative working practices on site.

Nick Goodenough, Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental (HSQE) Manager at ADComms, said:

"Gaining both BS18001 and BS11000 accreditation is an important demonstration of ADComms' ongoing pledge to maintaining industry-leading safe working practices and fostering a positive collaborative culture within the business.

Commitment to collaborative working is evident at ADComms from the top level down, with chief executive Jason Pearce sitting on several industry working groups.

Jason commented:

"Team-centric working is core to ADComms' business practices. Collaborative working is especially crucial for the rail sector, given the digital transformation that the industry will go through across the next decade.
"Because so much of the rail work undertaken by ADComms and our partners takes place trackside, enhancing safety is our top priority. Gaining these accreditations is a vital step not only in helping ADComms to further develop its collaborative working potentials, but also to help us work together to build an even safer rail industry."
