It has long been accepted that the quality, reliability, time and economic benefits of production in a controlled environment, compared with on-site production, mean that it is the strategy of choice for many projects. However it is not simply a matter of moving a site operation indoors; in many cases greatest results are derived from taking a fresh approach to the issue. ADComms specializes in providing innovative solutions to integration projects.

Our capabilities include:

  • Planning and design
  • Installation of equipment
  • Pre-delivery inspection and testing
  • Cable assembly and kitting
  • Commissioning

Our key competencies in the discipline of integration include:

The union of civil, structural, electrical and radio frequency engineering design expertise with the controlled environment production experience - Enabling clients’ programmes to move faster, with greater reliability and at higher levels of quality. This class leading proposition complemented by skilled project managers using PRINCE 2 and similar project management methodologies has put ADComms at the heart of some of the largest infrastructure projects in recent decades, including the development of the national GSM-R network - the bearer for a new era of rail systems management.

Test, commission, site specific configuration, fully powered storage and implementation material kits - Ensuring that sites can be dropped into position and switched on within a single shift, reducing both risk and cost, and increasing the speed at which networks can be rolled-out.

Commissioning

ADComms staff have a long standing history in commissioning telecommunications equipment on networks, including both fixed line and RF. Staff are skilled across equipment from a number of OEMs with regular training updates.

The business has recently been awarded a new contract with NWR assisting them in commissioning the FTN network. This is a significant body of work and reflects the innovative and "can do" approach by the ADComms business and its site engineers, as well as a reflection of the business being able to work in challenging environments and deliver results on time critical programs.

The duties involve SDH/PDH transmission tests including span testing in line with the product and test specifications, recording results of test, and carrying out remedial works in line with faults found.

As the GSMR network comes to completion, ADComms Commissioning will be an increasing revenue line for the business on both the fixed line and RF elements of the network.
