Going green: ADComms to speak at UK's first rail Sustainability Summit

Date: August 2015

ADComms chief executive Jason Pearce is set to take part in the UK’s first rail industry Sustainability Summit. Hosted by Rail Media on 22 September at the Congress Centre, London, the summit will explore the importance of sustainability in the rail sector.

As Europe’s foremost provider of rail telecommunications services, ADComms is conscious of the relationship between environmental best practice and the railway. Indeed, in 2014, the company began working with leading train operating company Siemens to help the firm deliver a greener approach to signalling cable repair and replacement.

At the summit, Pearce will be discussing next generation networks, outlining smart solutions for infrastructure owners and users, with ADComms head of next generation networks Mike Hewitt. He will be joined by a number of key figures from the industry, including representatives from Network Rail, Crossrail and the Department for Transport.

Pearce comments:

“Rail has a well-deserved reputation for being a more environmentally sustainable means of transport. Transport by rail, for both goods and people, impacts the environment less than by air or by road.

“Although the rail sector is a recognised leader in terms of sustainability, there’s always room for development. With such a massive programme of investment planned, it's right that industry leaders start to think now about the sustainability question.

The summit looks set to be a great opportunity for the industry to share ideas on how we can work collaboratively to further progress sustainability practices for the future.”

The Rail Sustainability Summit is on Tuesday 22 September 2015 in London.
